Hinds County, MS | Had a 2950 for years. Had A/C problems for 95% of the time i owned it. JD worked on it a number of times. Local shadetrees a number of times. I watched them do it so much, I got pretty proficient in A/C work. From what I could tell, the old compressors (A-6, i think they call them), were designed for use with R12. Now they are being sold as 134 ready, as direct replacements. They cannot hold up to the higher pressures of the 134 systems and are the first component to fail. I finally replaced all the JD crap with a retrofit kit from apair.com, that utilizes a compressor/drier/exp valve/etc that are designed for use with 134 refrigerant. Once i installed all that, the a/c blew ice cold, then I sold the tractor so I don't know what happened afterwards. Was very happy to see that tractor leave for no other reason than the A/C issues I went through. | |
