A striptill in the spring is no different than running a field cultivator or a disk in the spring.  Stripping just leaves a firm base to drive on.  I have to say "too loose of soil" I have never heard before either. 

 Now if you mean the hole left by a mole knife I can see and have heard of, but not with a coulter system.
