Might be unpopular with some here but to me that would mean scrapping subsidized crop insurance.
The cure for low prices is low prices....if the market is not artificially propped up.
I can relate first hand in the hog industry.....another round of shedding production coming soon.
Same people clamoring loudest for subsidies would clamor loudest against subsidies for anything else. Can't see passed the end of their own nose....
Your production shedding comments interest me. What about all the new packing capacity? It's tougher to depreciate an eight figure facility if you're not using it as much. Or are there other shackles going away? Last I knew Coldwater, MI still needed about 15 double wides to get first shift full and still want a second shift. |
