C IL | I charge an hourly rate plus any expenses. It’s just me, work on the side of farming, no huge overhead.
My sister works full time for an engineering firm and they have a variety of compensation schemes but often bid a percentage of a large job. According to her the industry standard is to get 18-22% of a job from planning and design through the final construction checks. I find farmers tend to have a lot more business and general contractor experience than the general public and can and want to figure out some of that on their own. | |
