ohio | I put 80 acres back to cropland because they told me the crp program had ended. I had 30 acres in filter strips for 16 years. I renewed it last fall. A couple months later they said the program had ended.We tore it up and planted beans. Last week they called and said the program was back on. The new crop ground had to have all the grass removed by burning or plowing under.The grass they want you to plant can get 6 ft tall.They don't want any ground cover so the birds can run around without flying from spot to spot in thick grass.They told me it could cost up to 600 an acre to seed.I'm done with them. | |
