Shouldn't have given away the shift pattern. And also remove it from the shift lever, just be blank. Then no thief could ever make a quick getaway.

Military vehicles equipped with auto trans starting with the 80's HMMV. Reason? More reliable the letting inexperienced recruits handle clutches and sticks. Also less training time.
