I wish Trump focused on the real problem which is China. I know Mexico gets some near shoring, but I prefer they increase their standard of living.
China is our enemy, I don't care if they consume soybeans.
There are a diversity of other countries who our excess jobs could enrich and who will consume better food as a result. All of our eggs should not lie in the China basket; nor any single country.
We've gone down this road and I hope the administration twists them until they squeal and then twists harder. Beans and Boeings is all they have on us. We can send our paper for tangible items (which is real winning) to someone else.
We'll see how this actually impacts us in the near-term. See if soy rallies once the facade of false soy tariffs is exposed. They are not going to lower their pork consumption voluntarily because that is losing and they have to have us to feed them.
