I didn’t start with nothing. But started small. I would farm the pieces that other farmers couldn’t fit their equipment in or they didn’t have time for.

Find the need for your area. It might be custom work like haying, custom calving, vegetables for a farmers market.

A neighbor raised hogs and sold meat at a farmers market. He used a small enclosed trailer with a freezer in it. Your students would have to deal with the heath department rules and regulations. They would have to keep good records of what sells at different times of the year. Eventually they may be able to sell whole hogs and do custom delivery.
