Illinois | Some people just dont get it. They dont understand that a field is a persons livelihood. Had some kids drive straight across a seed corn field when they were drunk. No douhhnuts or tearing antthing up just a straight line. I guess they wanted to avoid waking their parents up when they came home late. I happened to be driving by at 5am right after it happened.
Spoke with the kids and expained the situation. This time i let it slide because I was young and dumb also at one time. Told them next time the sheriff will be out and I wont be as understanding. Ive farmed next to their place for 13 years and havent had a problem so figured i could use this as an educational moment instead of getting heated. 10 years ago would have been a different story though!
Each persons situation is different. When something happens my reaction depends on the persons attitude. These kids (altough half drunk) were apologetic and promised it wouldnt happen again.
