redoak - 7/2/2018 17:57 No one should rejoice in falling markets but history tells us the past 10 yrs. or so was not a normal time in corn, beans, wheat.....No time in history has grain farming been so profitable for so long .....just remember that this too shall pass......trading combines or whole fleets of machinery every yr., expensive diesel pkps., along with paying record prices for land & rents was not sustainable.....Some pretty nice grain set ups, shops and homes built ......Nothing wrong with it if either farmer had cash or could cash flow it but contrary too what many say/think ag. debt has grown substantially.....on the + side land values will come more in line with returns ,most have a good line of machinery that will last quite a while and these Black Swan events are what happens from time to time---stay strong,it will get better
Very well said redoak...... Lets back up these post to say late 70's to mid 80's....anyone remember?

Awhile back, I posted some real-time stuff very pertinent to that era.  Much that was old is new again.

Vert true Clay...... The old is new again
