It was interesting to me that you said " ........I milked cows to farm......". When I sold my cows in 2006, John Kalmey said to me, and I quote,"You(Jack) milked so you could farm, I(John) farmed so I could milk." Your words are pretty much identical to his.

I guess that you and I are lucky that we can find satisfaction in crop farming. John has already said he is not interested in grain farming and will probably rent his land out.

I know the trend has been to larger and larger dairies for years, but these guys in the article are being forced out for no good reason. They are all successful enough that they deserved to at least go out when they wanted to like I did. I know--the world isn't fair.
