It had apartments and a restaurant and a vacant spot I turned into my office, Most of the increase in value was because of the money I spent on it and the work I did, When I quit the town gig I traded the place for farm land. It isn't the saving of the gain on appreciation that was important it was avoiding the recapture of depreciation on the sale that was important because I owned the property for 20+ years. | |
