Mid Michigan
There is a really nice spot in the top of the lower penninsula in michigan called Indian River where Burt Lake and Mullet Lake come together. It's like a 10 mile channel that joins the two lakes. It looks like it's about ten foot deep most of the way and it's so clean you can see the bottom. My brother rented a pontoon and a house for a few days right in Indian River right by the marina so we just walked down to our pontoon and we were good to go for a day of fishing, cruising, swimming. It's really neat and you cruise down the channel and there are people swimming in there and grilling out on the shore and boats and things coming from lake to lake. The lakes are very big and deep and are great fishing. I know they both have beaches on them if you want to cruise over to the beach and dock the pontoon. The cruise up to Mullet lake is a long ride and it takes you through some really nice habitat area and the fishing was really good. You can even cruise all the way up to the north of Mullet lake and go all the way to Cheboygan and catch a movie and have dinner or ice cream at the docks there. If you want to you can even use the locks and go out into lake Huron and cruise to Mackinaw city all by the way of the water. It's a great place if the weather is nice. Pretty hot up here right now.
