Subject: new rail tariffs start October 1st........

East Central South Dakota
been -.95 for a long time with no change in since tariff talk. However, effective October 1st, 2018 Corn PNW tariff rates are increasing $180 per car which equals to 4.5 cents per bushel. Soybeans are increasing to $150/car which equals 4 cents per bushel. If the buyers at the PNW want it bad enough they will adjust their bid to a stronger basis to help pay some of that freight increase, if not I would guess the new freight rates will be figured into a weaker basis for both Dakota's and western Minnesota. Thanks Warren......
