| In her twitter post, she states "Using USDA's March area".... So somebody help me with my math here. She is using each state's acres from the Planting Intentions report and multiplying those acres by the record yield for each state and arriving at the national yield of 182.xx corn and 52.xx beans?
But wait a sec..... each year, the Average Harvested Acres is something like 92-93% of planted acres. Shouldn't she adjust the acres with the average "harvested acres" percentage for each state? So these numbers she's tweeting would really be less by 7-8% to account for the harvested acres, correct? Does that make sense? | |
