Subject: RE: Church question on Sunday

Something has bugged me for quite a while. Last year the Church I was married in, my parents and grandparents were and have been member since the 40's needed a new roof. They asked for donations by mail. I had got about $1000 back from the corn growers check off refund and I gave it to the church. About a month later an article comes out in the local paper thanking our largest local business ,a big organic farm that draws in hundreds of illegals, for their donation to the roof project. I along with anyone else didn't get a thank you but hey I didn't want my name in the paper but maybe a thanks in some other way.

It reminds me of a sermon from when I was a kid that I will never forget. It was about an old woman who tithed two copper coins. They didn't have much value but what they meant to the old women was her entire savings. Moral of the story I gave what I could and not to make public image like they did. Makes me feel better already.

Did you go check green cards at the organic farm or are you just being an underinformed judgemental racist?

Isn’t there also something in the Bible about giving quietly and not to bring glory to yourself?

Perhaps the day they thanked folks for giving to the roof fund you were on your computer instead of in church.
