South Plains of Texas
I don't believe that big time farming is all that efficient. We have a couple of operators in this area that are in the 10 to 20000 acre range. I have seen them just totally wear out a tractor in 5000 hrs. One of them told me about having to spend $25000 on a 8120 with about 7000hrs. Had to completely replace the front end and hitch along with a new motor. I agree that spreading your living expense across more acres is good, but there comes a time when you get to big.
