I'm not really knowledgeable as to how the antitrust laws address issues so maybe referenceing the wrong statutes. I'm assuming(mistake on my part) that they are to safeguard fair competetion of a paticular good or service. Not allowing consolidation within said goods or services in order monopolize to the point of ability to price fix or manipulate a market.
I have read some on the packers and stockyard act and that appeared to be its intended purpose. It was surly repealed,expired or something since inactment as monopolies are the norm in livestock sector. I'll have to do little research to see what anti trust is supposed to address. If it is size of any enterprise that could effect national supply or security then the savings and loan thing of a few years back comes to mind as well as the aig thing & finan cials of today. Sorry no real facts, just my opinion.
