We have had a lady pastor for at least two years, first as a an intern and then as an interim, unfortunately it is not going to work out for her to become our permanent pastor. She has been a wonderful pastor and helped our congregation a great deal.
I know our attendance went down with one male pastor we had, but our family never stopped attending church because we didn't like the pastor. Something a female member of our congregation said when she gave the sermon one Sunday has really stuck with me, "The church is what you make of it when the building burns down and the pastor leaves".
