This is your best answer. There will be no changing things per your description. So avoid, ignore pointed jabs at you, and carry on as well as possible.

While I can understand your parents viewpoint of not facing up to her to keep things simple.....I feel they actually did her more harm. This is not an easy world we live in, and they trained her to not have to be responsible for herself. She knows she will be taken care of.

Live YOUR life as an example to your kids. Teach your kids that.....while they should respect their aunt, you disagree with certain aspects of her behaviour, and then explain why that is.

I had a sister-in-law living with us along with her kids when she left her husband. Similar stories to yours, but essentially I used her as an example to my young kids of how to be held accountable, and that they each have the choice of being a tick, or a productive member of society.
