NE CO | Hey guys, lets assume it wasn't set, OK. Thank goodness, I've only experienced one fire in my life. It was on an old Ford 350 with a sprayer. I guess dry corn leaves got up in the engine compartment on the manifold and started a fire. I first smelled smoke, then the engine died when the fire ate the fuel line. I jumped out when I saw the smoke, opened the engine compartment the see what was going on, tossed a little dirt on it in a futile effort to put it out, shut the hood again, then there was little to do but stand back. I rescued my Outback GPS unit, but no time to get anything else out. Scary. Then there really isn't anything to do but stand back. If I had a camera with me, I guess I would have been taking pictures. | |
