I know a local kid that had just got his license. One of the first time driving home after dark a car pulled up fast behind him and turned on their bright lights. They tailgated him way closer than he was comfortable with and would back off then come right close behind him again. He was getting scared that it was someone out to hurt him and was thinking about speeding to get away from them. Luckily for him they turned on their lights to stop him just before he started speeding. To do that to anyone let alone a kid who just got their license and is still on probationary period is crooked and baiting if you ask me. But with no other witnesses around who would a judge believe, a cop or a kid?

To those who think that all cops are the pinnacle of honesty don’t know what they are talking about. Yes they should be respected. But their behaviour needs to be questioned sometimes. There are good and bad ones just like in every other profession.

Knew of someone who had a similar experience with a sheriff deputy. The person had no involvement in anything illegal, nor were they doing anything suspicious in any way. Perfect driving record. No drinking, drugs, or anything else that could be considered a crime behind the wheel or not. They had just left a friend’s ranch and turned onto a side road. No other cars were spotted behind him or in front on either road. The sun had set and it was just getting dark. Next thing a sheriff deputy comes out of nowhere and also pulls onto sideroad. The civilian was maybe a half a mile ahead. He stopped at stop sign with turn signal on and could see the patrol car way in the distance behind him. No flashing lights on.

So he turned onto other main road in a normal speed and proceeded home. In a little bit, here came the patrol car at a fast speed running the stop sign and swerving hard in hot pursuit. Almost didn’t stay on the road and nearly ran off into a cotton field. Deputy comes roaring up to civilian’s vehicle and deliberately came within inches of hitting back bumper. By this time, it was dark outside on a lone stretch of road. The deputy repeatedly would back off a distance and then roar up at the back bumper. Sometimes tailgating closely in between his bluffs. The civilian never did anything to react, yet the deputy kept on following until the next main road intersection. Guess he couldn’t find a way to rattle the civilian enough to give excuse for pulling him over.

There are good cops and bad cops just like in every profession. It has been suspected that the civilian’s former friend at that one ranch, where he had just left that night, was possibly behind the incident. There are credible reasons why.
