south texas | The system is sooooooooooooo messed up. Twenty three years ago our first daughter was born. We had John Deere insurance at the time. I think when everything was done the insurance company was billed like $125,000 for a natural vaginal birth. A very good friend of ours had their second child at same hospital previous day. Both natural vaginal births. The only difference was they DID NOT have any insurance. Their OBGYN was paid for. He wrote a check for $1800.00 to hospital for EVERYTHING else.
This was 23 yrs ago so the problem has been there a while.
