Pedee, Oregon | That may be true for your area but here we are ahead of the curve on growing trees. This is some of, if not the best land in the world for growing softwood timber. Weyerhaeuser and others that border me are on a 40-60 year rotation to an 18" DBH tree. Fertilizer gets flown on by helicopter at critical tree growth stages and they have bred up a line of Doug firs that grow like weeds. Does it make great lumber? Nope. Will it build a house? Yes. | |
