When we cut it down I found a very large grub (over 2 inches long) on the ground. The tree was full of holes inside. Some bigger than a pencil. Extension director knew it wasn't an emerald ash borer, but sent a picture to the head entomoligist at Iowa State. It was some kind of borer, but can't remember what. Emerald ash borer is a lot smaller and there holes are too. | |
