I'm not sure where that $285,000 number is coming from, but I buzzed around the Internet and found a range of $320-$350/month rental for the Coke 9000 Freestyles...Can't buy them.
Now supposedly it takes special plumbing - what that means I have no idea. Looks like a water line and a drain would work to me. Maybe it cost them that much to retrofit the restaurant to accommodate it.
Maybe they don't make a killing on some soda machines
