I sure agree on the effiency thing, really ,when you look at it, a guy with 100K acres can afford to be way less effiecient than a guy with 1000 acres.
The guy with 100K only has to have 50 cents an acre to for 50K living expences.
Guy with 1K needs 50 dollars an acre.
I guess it's all in your definition of "effiecency"
