I've only had one car totaled before.  Got T boned at an intersection.  It was a 91 mustang GT.  This was probably 12 years ago.  I gave $3300 for the car, I got $5,000 check for it.  I didn't have medical bills or much pain as it was sort of a gentle hit for what it was.  Probably the reasoning for the good payment was the fact we were both insured through Country insurance at the time.  Speaking of which, what would a person do in that situation, if you both had the same insurer, but you didn't agree with the settlement they offered?  How do they fight that out amongst themselves?
