I have been in the speed queen test facility and it is true they test the machines for a long time before they are released. It is not just a run them once a day for a week thing, they are run twenty four hours a day with loads of towels.
I have seen the towels when they are done with them and they are totally wore out, they don't even make good shop rags.

I haven't seen the new machines but I wouldn't be afraid of them, they have been tested. Our 15 year old test machine that we bought for 50 dollars with no warranty is still working just fine.
