Subject: RE: Zero turn lawn mowers

west central Iowa
I used to mow with a $150 6' 3 point finish mower on a 560 or an M , last year my son moved back home and brought his 44" cut zero turn. Yesterday was the first time I mowed the whole lawn with the zero turn. It's nice, but if I had to choose I'd take the tractor and finish mower for what we mow. One big reason is you sit up high and don't eat the clippings from the current and prior mowings when the wind is wrong. And even with the smaller deck on the ztr there are places you can't fit so you still have to trim with the push mower. With the 28" of extra cut on the finish mower I don't believe there's any time saved with the ztr on our lawn anyway. Maybe if I got more used to it I would like it better, but probably not, just an old man, set in my ways. Hopefully my son doesn't read this and quit mowing the lawn.
