just a tish NE of central ND | You dont know why harvestore killed farms? We are talking 70's and into the 80's. One small harvestore was 100 grand plus way back......... and a lot of the small farms that bought them, couldnt pay for them because when things went south, their net imcome couldnt afford the payments....And then there was the issues with spoilage and also expensive repairs on hardware and air bag systems. The concept was good......and when they worked it seems like they make great feed. Some folks made out liike bandidts , some went broke.
Im my area a harvestore and chopping machinery and parlors built along with them cost more than the acreage associated with the farms did by a long shot..
Oh...... there were also new farm houses that broke farms...........
