ESW ND | Last year we had two different hail storms. First was golf ball. I was running back to get the vehicles inside, got hit in the arm and leg. Luckily missed my money maker and think box. Those hurt and left black and blue marks. I had to wait it out for the next 5-10 min in my steel shop. I had to plug my ears, unreal for LOUD. Then a month later we got some baseball size hail. Oh mother, that was the first and only time I hope I ever see or hear something like that. I didn't know jagged hail could bounce that high. It was so loud on the shingle house roof. We were ready to put the mattresses into the windows. We though for sure they were going to get blown out. If you've never experienced large hail.....you are more than luck and fortunate. The damage you don't think about till you start walking around...vehicles, equipment, holes torn in buildings, crops, the land...it isn't a good experience. We have '70's-80's stuff, try looking for glass or parts for that stuff around here. We were pretty luck to find some glass. The Good Lord WAS looking after us, it could have been so much much worse. We didn't lose any animals. Sorry for the long post. | |
