red river valley se of fargo | Not really knowing for certain just an interesting tidbit, the story goes the Germans hauled many train loads of topsoil out of the Ukraine during world war 2. Must be pretty good stuff.
I live in the red River valley and maybe I'm just used to it but I don't see what's so special about our dirt. The topsoil is rarely over a foot thick anywhere and drainage is such an issue we have some fairly variable crops. |
