Old experience here.......if it works Ok in shop then get an electrician to check panel etc.
Had sparks from a fan in barn one day which caused me to call electrician.
He found the original installation of the panel had not been done correctly and he had to add a wire to correctly ground it.
This after I had used the electrical system for a number of years and had a new electrician to work on it.
