I really don't think it's ever all that crowded. I've attended conferences there in the winters a few times, and years ago the summer, and it was not crowded then.

The SE Georgia area is a lot like Florida weather at Panama City, Destin, St. Augustine, or Fernandina.

Two other good places are Hilton Head, SC and Tybee Island, Ga., both close to Savannah.
