ESW ND | We see all those birds on a regular basis. Been having some yellow headed blackbirds hanging around the yard lately. Had to look up what a bobolink was, I guess now I know what they are called. We've had those for awhile. Those flickers sure clean up on ants too. They grab them and eat but also will rub them on their bodies. They come to the bird bath, then once done splashing, they sit on the ground, head cocked and eye's closed staring at the sun. Not sure why, but they do it on a regular basis. The blackbirds are filthy. They nest in the grove about 50yds from the house. They fly over carrying their babies poo and drop it on the house, vehicles and sidewalk. Very messy. They then go to the bath, drink and wash their beak. An oriole snuck in for a quick drink, definitely the male, man oh man, that orange and black is something. Most all the birds are nesting so you don't see them near as often, but it won't be long before the young will need more food and soon leave the nest. Then we will see a lot of them more often. | |
