My teenage daughter has acid reflux. Caffeine is what generally sets it off for her. I made a couple blocks out of 2X4s, a foot tall each, and placed each under the headboard of her bed to elevate it. She slept on a sloped bed for around a year but that took care of the problem. She is ok as long as she avoids caffeine.
Reflux here, Dr said no caffine, no beer or booze, and no chocolate. Well, he qualified that and said use a drink or a piece of chocolate cake as a RARE treat. Dont over do this.
I had erosion and get scoped 1x a year. Tried to convince me I needed surgery, (I passed on that).
I found over eating and in general eating a late meal or snacking in the evening were big triggers to reflux.
So I eat supper at 4-430pm and rarely snack. I do follow the do nots to eat too.
