Floyd County, Iowa | I had a bad (to me) case of sciatica several years ago. Lower back hurt, down through the right cheek, thigh, and stopped in the calf, where it felt like it was on fire, and throbbed the entire length.
I tried every position I could think of to get comfortable. Only comfortable position was the "flat on the back on the floor, butt against the front of the couch, and lower legs on the couch".
Went to doctor (he's an osteopath) who tried manipulation, but that didn't work. He prescribed a muscle relaxer, and that worked immediately. Took them for 2 weeks or so, and occasionally for another year.
Still bothers me once in awhile, usually because I tried lifting something I shouldn't, but basically been gone for years.
But I'm getting smarter about knowing/accepting my limits. Don't want to go through that again. | |
