Since you've had the medical work-up and know that there's no other issue going on there, such as a malignant tumor or similar, I'd give a good chiropractor a shot at it before I did surgery. Some places, there is a massage therapist available in the same office as the chiropractor. Doing the massage first relaxes sore, tense, contracted muscles so that the adjustments the chiropractor does are sometimes easier and work quicker. It's worth a shot, IMHO. Beats surgery and recovery/rehab in the middle of spring season.
