| I think farms are in a different category typically. Usually, farm partnerships are family - and there is a lot of emotion that goes along with running land that possibly has been in the family for generations. That, and a lot of people will treat family members/partners in ways that they would never treat other acquaintances. Toss in a father/son partnership where Dad doesn't want to give up control, and you have a volatile situation.
You could probably see similar situations where partnerships are formed in other industries or businesses where the entity has been in the family for a length of time. Too much emotion is involved. | |
