Subject: RE: Headstones

North End I-15
It was 20 years May 2nd since our only son and first born was killed in a Car Wreck. He was killed by a drunk driver. He was the driver.
He was a kind gentle sole when sober , a mean drunk when drinking. Had been married divorced.
His mother has grieved ever since. He is buried here on the farm on a hill . His head stone is a huge stone estimate 4000 lbs. Skidded it on a sheet of 4x8' plate a couple miles . The plaque is made from a piece of marble salvaged from a Bar refinishing project. He was a talented furniture restorer. Worked on furniture for Ted Turner and Jane Fonda when he was still married and living in Bozeman area.
He was a craftsman Jack of all trades , college grad in Industrial Arts teaching degree . Loved by all , taken advantage by down and out women who he seemed attracted to.

Ran a Resturant for a couple years did very well the first year . It was leased from and attached to a bar . 3 steps up to the bar from the cafe. He had gone through rehab but when one of his fallen ladies needed cash , he took all his savings from business to feed her habits. End of Resturant as the Feds came after him for lack of payments on the withholding and taxes owed.
Then came a lady I swear could chew barb'd wire and spit staples . She was 15 years older than him.
The drinking started again with a vengeance.
At the funeral the the church was over flowing with people who loved the sober him and those who loved the party animal.
Funny thing was , his first wife was there bawling sharing tissues with another lady bawling besides her. Little did they know one was the first wife the other the last in his life.

He was 36.
It took a while to get over the anger of a wasted life .
A talented craftsman, a favorite Uncle to his sisters kids, Friend to all in need .
A forever hole in our lives.
