Africanized. Aren't they a different species and don't cross breed?
Especially if you have two hives wouldn't they attack each other?
Explain to someone who had snow on the ground two weeks ago about Africanized bees.
They can interbreed, the female is fertilized once in her life by both species of male and lays eggs of both types, but when the new queens hatch the africanized ones come out a day earlier and kill all the european queens. The end results are all african hives after several generations. For some reason the european bees seem to have an edge the colder the climate is so that seems to be limiting the spread at this point. In these parts everything is african now, they are harmless when swarming but can be very dangerous once a hive is established, they are far more aggressive defending a hive than european bees. A few miles from my farm someone scrapping a mobile home with an open station payloader was killed when he flipped the home over and was attacked. He had hundreds of stings and died from anaphylactic shock on the helo ride to Vegas
