Washington Co Ks | They are probably honey bees. We moved a house shortly after we were married. I poisoned the bees and didn't want to use the honey. I took a piece of sheeting out of the front and used a hoe to rake the honey out. My in-laws came to visit before I cleaned out the honey in the back. My FIL said that it wouldn't hurt anything to leave the honey there, I thought that I had read that the bees used their wings to circulate the air to keep the honey cool. My FIL said it wouldn't make any difference so I left it. The next summer we started having honey drib from the kitchen celling. After about 45 years it still drips. It is in the corner so doesn't cause to much of a problem.
By the way I used some kind of cattle dust to poison the bees. I think that it had been taken off the market before I used it. I don't know what would work today.
