North East Kansas | We harvest around 16% moisture corn here. Our 7088 can shell 3500 bushels per hour and we usually keep it that way. Our hauls are very short to the main elevator so we can literally haul away more than 3500 bushels per hour with 2 trucks sometimes. I am certain we could gain a little with the 16 row corn head just because our logistics are different, but I'm not sure how much better than 12 rows it would be. Our gains would be mostly in non irrigated corn since irrigated corn can load the combine to 3500 bushels per hour with a 12 row. Obviously in crappy years, you can fly with any corn head because there isn't enough corn to haul away. | |
