I would would go with the 24 row planter and stay with the 12 row cornhead. 24 rows works with any cornhead and sometimes you actually lose efficiency by going bigger. Sometimes it's a lot cheaper to have a smaller extra combine than one big one. A combine with a 16 row cornhead may not harvest any faster if it has to sit waiting for trucks and grain carts.
