Clarify please with specifics to the tractor and drive tran components.

My experience with Deutz engines has been great really like em they have been dependable smooth running fuel efficient engine.

Why do you suggest a 8400 Deere?

I have a Deutz in a R60 and get along great with it, buddy has one in a R70, also great, and we know some cowboys with a well abused DX that the engine still runs great even though the tranny is down to about 2 or 3 gears and has been parked since.

I was talking to a custom cutter yesterday that is not known for maintaining things perfectly, he runs Deere currently, but ran Gleaner for years, and had many Deutz powered 60s,70s, 62s and 72s and he said other than changing the fan yearly and blowing out daily they did nothing but change oil and filters and run them. Great power and fuel economy, so he said he liked them alot.

So I would say the issues Tomcat had are not common.
