I believe our state Farm Bureau has a legal department. You might want to check with your state Farm Bureau office, find out if they have a legal department. If so, maybe set up an appointment with someone from that office (or meet with them after hours), and chat with them about what they do, and how you may (or may not) fit into that environment. You could also think about our ag agencies/organizations and make the same kinds of contacts. Maybe make a list of ag organizations that do lobbying in state legislatures, and in Wash D.C. I am guessing here.... but these kinds of organizations might hire lawyers - or paralegal professionals - to do background work to help in their lobbying efforts. As I write, maybe you might want to investigate the paralegal profession. I would consider this "a step down" from being a lawyer - maybe not the payscale of a lawyer, but not as much time involved in re-education either. Just thinking...... |
