ND | The ground we have here is pretty tough at times gumbo & have a IH 720 5-18 plow & a 4430 cannot pull it because a 4640 is minimum. Luckily we don't plow anymore but still have both outfits. Your ground must be pretty nice to be pulling 4-18"'s with a 4230 or 4040 with a turbo, as an even match here in the past was a 4430 with a 5-14 plow. As said before you'd be far better off with a 4430 for all the extra things you get on the tractor especially the different diesel pump. | |
