Net metering is nothing more than an incentive/subsidy, call it what you will, and shift cost to other customers. Again if  you can benefit from it, good for you. But it is not sound policy overall.

Spend your money on energy efficiency and we all win. Solar certainly has a place in off grid situations, but if solar makes sense let the utility do in on a utility scale while utilizing existing infrastructure. 



the capital to start the solar for the small coop would be the same daffy statement,

that they should build their own nuclear electric plant
