If you notice in my numbers above I have not included the 30% federal rebate on solar. I have a lot more actual numbers but they evidently would not make any difference to you. But the economics, real, honest economics based on technological advances, not political hyperbole, will win out eventually. Change is difficult, but it happens anyway.
Good day sir.
What i know from having built a utility scale solar plant in Nevada seen here
is that without federal tax credits (everywhere), portfolio standards (most states), and state tax credits (most states) the economics of solar power don't work. Because it is not nor never has been about economics. That plant by the way is paid about triple the normal cost per kwh to make it work. Nevada power companies are required by law to have a growing percentage of their power coming from renewable.
Net metering really gets under my skin as yet another way to subsidize solar while hiding the cost. The poor should not have to pay higher and higher power bills. In NC we are looking at 15% rate hikes to pay for all the solar farms around the state and it would be higher if not for the corp tax cuts. It is not fair to regular folks.
